Man Retains Driving Privileges After Drugged Driving

Not long ago, Chicago criminal defense lawyer Michael O’Meara aided a man in his 20’s when he faced the harsh realities of being charged with driving under the influence of drugs. Apparently, after being stopped by the police, the man submitted to a blood test that showed marijuana in his system. In addition to the usual legal penalties for drugged driving, like time behind bars and hefty fines, the young man was also very worried about the possibility of having his license suspended for 6-months and being required to install an expensive ignition interlock device on his car.

These anxieties led him to O’Meara Law LLC, and after a consultation, attorney O’Meara took the young man’s case. In an effort to find the best possible outcome for his client, attorney O”Meara began discussing the situation with the prosecution and effectively negotiated an agreement that allowed him to maintain his ability to drive without the need for a superfluous machine being attached to his vehicle. The client was quite relieved with this outcome, which permitted him to drive unencumbered and he easily moved on with his life.

The outcome of an individual case depends on a variety of factors unique to that case. Case results do not guarantee or predict a similar result in any similar or future case.
